Ayurvedic Yoga Nidra Meditation Video

Ayurvedic Yoga Nidra Meditation (Yogic Sleep Meditation)

In this Ayurveda meditation video, you will be led through a 30 minute Yoga Nidra Meditation practice. Yoga Nidra translates to yogic sleep and it is a form of meditation that is done while lying down. Props can be nice to use like a bolster under the knees and a pillow under the head. This guided meditation practice begins with setting a sankalpa or an intention. You will then guided through a progressive muscle relaxation to prepare the body and activate the annamaya kosha. The koshas are energetic sheaths or layers that encase the soul. As we move through these layers we get closer to our truest selves. You will then count the breaths to activate the pranamaya kosha or the vital energy layer. Followed by a conscious awareness practice of bringing attention to each part of your body as well as each of your chakras. This is to activate the manomaya kosha or the mental sheath. Next you will practice a So Hum mantra practice in unison with the breath. This is to activate the vijnanamaya kosha or the wisdom sheath. Lastly you will be guided through a visualization practice to activate the anandamaya kosha or the bliss sheath. Now press play on the video and follow along as you are led through the Ayurvedic meditation technique of Yoga Nidra Meditation.
