Hello Everyone! My name is Marissa Mele and I am an Ayurvedic Health Counselor and owner of Five Prana Ayurveda. I have been practicing Ayurveda for over 6 years and I’ve been practicing yoga for over 25 years. I am so fortunate to have been introduced to these sister sciences and I’ve personally experienced transformative changes in my body, mind and spirit through incorporating Ayurvedic principles into my life. I have also witnessed these same transformations in my clients. I believe in the efficacy of Ayurveda and I am very excited to share this ancient healing modality with you.

In our virtual Ayurveda & Yoga for Headaches workshop, we will explore Ayurvedic practices to help those of you struggling with headaches. This workshop begins with an understanding of the Ayurvedic view of headaches and their relationship with the dosha. We will then explore the Ayurvedic practices used to help with the management of headaches like abhyanga or oil massage, mardana or marma point acupressure, essential oils, herbal teas and more. I will then lead you through different yogic practices like pranayama or breathing techniques to help to calm the body, mind and nervous system as well as mudras and asanas or physical postures. Lastly, we will practice a So Hum mantra meditation to relax the mind. At the end of the workshop, you will have learned the techniques used in Ayurveda to ease tension in the head and neck.
