Ayurveda Meditation

Meditation is very beneficial for not only the mind, but also the body. In Ayurveda we call it Dhyana Chikitsa or meditation as therapy because meditation has the power to heal us in many ways and on many levels. It calms and relaxes. It centers us. It allows us to decompress and connect to a higher state of consciousness.

Developing a meditation practice can be difficult. But as Maya Tiwari says in her book “The Path of Practice: A Woman’s Book of Ayurvedic Healing”: “It may be hard at first to honor your promise, but soon enough you’ll experience some results, and that will reinforce your commitment.”

31 Point Meditation

In this Ayurveda meditation audio recording, you will be led through a 10 minute 31 Point Meditation practice. These 31 points correspond with Ayurvedic marma points. Marma points are energy points on the surface of the body used in Ayurveda as both a diagnostic tool and a pathway to promoting health, healing and rejuvenation. In this meditation practice, we will be directing our attention to different points on the body. Through focused concentration as well as breath, we will feel progressive relaxation throughout the body and the mind. By bringing energy to these points, we will feel a sense of peace, tranquility and ease. This is the shortened version of this meditation practice. When you’re ready for a longer practice, try the 61 Point Meditation. Now follow along as you are led through the Ayurvedic meditation technique of 31 points Meditation.
