Uttarabodhi Mudra

Uttarabodhi Mudra is the mudra or gesture of enlightenment. The hands interlace and your index fingers and thumbs release and connect with their respective finger. Your index fingers should point up to the sky and your thumbs should point down to the earth. Your hands should rest in front of your abdomen at the site of the manipura or solar plexus chakra. This mudra is associated with the heart, lungs and the large intestine. The heart and lungs are organs of Kapha and the large intestine is the organ of Vata. This mudra strengthens our inhalations and opens our heart and lungs.

Uttarabodhi mudra can be used to connect with cosmic consciousness or the divine energy of the universe. This can also be compared to connecting to the highest version of ourselves. This mudra refreshes the body and mind like pressing refresh on your browser. It’s a chance to give a flash of energy to our selves. This mudra has a relaxing effect on the mind and body. It can be especially beneficial to practice before giving a presentation or teaching a class or workshop.

My partnership with the powers of the cosmos allows my life to appear in a new light.

QOTD: "Is there a moment you can recall where you were able to learn from your fears? What clarity or new way of thinking has accepting your fears brought you?" There is a big fear I've been working of being more open and communicative about the way I feel. I've been much more expressive lately and it feels amazing. It means so much when people comment on my posts about how they feel the same way I do. I know for many years of my life, I felt like no one understood me or what I was going through and that there weren't other people like me. I've learned through sharing and being more open that I feel a greater connection with others and myself.
