Ayurvedic Cooking Workshop Ticket
Ayurveda teaches us that food is the best medicine and that foods have the power to heal. Learn how to cook an Ayurvedic meal.
This workshop teaches you the fundamentals of Ayurvedic cooking. We will learn about the 6 tastes of sweet, salty, sour, pungent, bitter and astringent and how we incorporate all 6 tastes in the Ayurvedic meals we create. Each of the 6 tastes have different healing actions on the body and when they are combined together into an complete and balanced meal, they will bring harmony to the body and digestive system. The Ayurvedic meal consists of a variety of dishes so that each of the 6 tastes can be represented. The Ayurvedic meal also allows family members with different doshas to eat together and enjoy a balancing meal no matter what constitution they might be.
This is a hands-on workshop, where we will be cooking together so you can learn how to make Ayurvedic meals at home. The workshop will begin with an mini-meditation to center the body and calm the mind and will be followed by a cleansing ritual for the hands. The cooking demonstration will start with blending the curry spice mix. You will touch, smell and taste each spice in the curry spice blend to begin to understand their unique flavor profiles. Afterwards, we will create a batch of ghee together as a group and each participant will receive a jar of ghee to take home with them. We will then make a vegetable, lentil and rice dish along with an Ayurvedic dessert using our homemade ghee and curry spice blend. Before we eat, we will stoke agni or our digestive fires by eating the Ayurvedic fresh ginger digestive. Once we've completed creating each of the dishes in our Ayurvedic meal, we will enjoy the food we prepared together as a group.
Your workshop fee includes the cost of your meal (valued at $30), a jar of handmade ghee (valued at $12), a jar of curry spice blend (valued at $8), as well as a booklet of all the recipes we created together at the workshop along with customizations for the different doshas and constitutions.

You can tell her products are made with love and her immense depth of knowledge
I've also had the good fortune to use some of her skin care products. Regular self-abhyanga massages were one of her recommendations for me and I was hesitant to use so much oil on my skin, since I thought my skin tended to be oily already. As it turns out, with the skincare products I was using, I was actually stripping my skin of its natural oil and to balance that, it was overproducing oil. Once I started using the Five Prana face oil and body oils for abhyanga massages, my skin has become much healthier and more resilient, and definitely not oily. You can really tell her products are made with love and her immense depth of knowledge. The care she puts into formulating her products and using high quality ingredients is very apparent. I definitely recommend Marissa and all her ayurvedic services to any and everyone, even if you don't have any specific imbalances to address. Mahalo (thank you) Marissa!

She thoughtfully and skillfully handcrafts her items
Marissa is one of the most thoughtful practitioners I’ve worked with. She is knowledgeable, attentive and thorough in her consultations. I felt listened to! She thoughtfully and skillfully handcrafts her items herself, which makes me doubly as excited to use them since I know I’m supporting local and getting a high quality product— whether it’s a spice blend or eye cream. You definitely want to stock up on some Five Prana pitta oil for the body. The smell is delicious and just the thing to get you through the cold season!

I ordered the Kapha Natural Perfume as a treat for myself after the holidays and I couldn’t be more pleased. I received my tidy little package quickly. The fragrance is warm, spicy and perfect for the cold winter months. Wonderful experience. Thank you❤️ I’ll be back for more, with friends.

Soothing, gentle, refreshing and absorbent
Marissa’s five Prana Ayurvedic body oils have improved the appearance and texture of my skin. I use the eclipse oil, vata face oil, vata body oil and saffron eye ghee. These natural products are soothing, gentle, refreshing and absorbent. Dry flakey skin and crepiness have been minimized by using these products.
